What do you guys do for gas? Does Simethicone work? It's really bad today. I was running around Target trying to get away from it! Then I would have to pretend someone else did it. Argggh!

I guess I could handle the gas...sometimes I just worry about what may tag along with the gas.

It wasn't until I started taking fibre supplements daily (as suggested by my GI) that I got my gas under control (it's very minimal anymore) and my bloating completely gone...he told me to take it daily and indefinitely which I've been doing for about 4ish yrs now.

:)
My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it!  LOL  :)

I switched to the powder metamucil that you mix 1 heaping tablespoon into 8 hours of water or other liquids and I am having bouts of bloating and gas but it is better. My stools have always been formed but I go more than twice a day occasionally. And my tight pants pushing in on my gut don't help things. They are pushing into the area right below my left ribs and that I've determined is where the stinging sensations and the catch in my side are coming from.
Diagnosed with left sided UC in sigmoid colon and rectum 1986.
Put on Azulfidine 2 X 3 a day and Rowasa enemas 60mg.
Have been pretty much in remission overall other than a few flares over the past 21 years.
Medicine changed to Asacol 400mg 2 pills X3 times a day. Taken off all meds in 2004.
Diagnosed with acid reflux 2005. Put on Protonix 40mg.
Have been using Canasa 1000mg suppositories nightly since January 2007.
Was put back on Asacol 400mg 2 pills 2X a day in July 2007 maintenance.

Gas-X seems to work for me most of the time. My doc told me they actually use the liquid form of Gas-X after colonoscopies to help clear up the air they put in your colon for the test.

to many questions

GAS-X, it works wonders. My doc at UCLA told me to try it and he was right. I take half of a extra strength in the morning(needing it or not) and the other half at night(same thing needed or not). I am mostly gas free for now. Everything else I point to my husband......and smile
