Hi, I bought some aloe vera juice today.  How much do you drink and what is it good for?  Will it help me lose weight?  I hope so.  It has 40 mg of sodium, will this  make me retain water?  Any advice is appreciated.  Thanks, Bellski

If I'm constipated, I use it to get the bowels moving again...usually two 25mg capseuls (sp) three times a day is enough. I'm not sure if others use it to lose weight though, maybe someone else can comment on that.

You can also search for more posts by going to the google search box above and typing in aloe, etc.

JoanW is a member who's son has UC and used the aloe gel with good luck.  I believe she had him drinking a 1/4 cup in tea in the evenings.  You could also search for her posts.  Originally a member named Purp (before my time) had found the info and tried it with good luck.

I think the Gel is better than the juice. The juice I think is supposed to give you more bm's and is not recommended for people with bowel issues.

Hi happyliving,

I am seeing a Nutritionist and I have been following his candida elimination diet for some time now. I can't say for sure right now how effective the anti-fungals, probiotics, etc. have been, until my next urine test (which will be this saturday). I have spent a small fortune on many different supplements over the course of his program and everything boils down to this saturday when I take the urine test. If it still shows levels of candida, it will be a disaster and I will give up on the program; however, if the results are good it will mean that I can eat normally again because the balance of good/bad bacteria will be restored in my colon.

time will tell,
