I have posted before that I need to lose weight and have received great advice from all of you.  It comes down to will  power for me I think.  I recently became desparate and was going to try fasting, I know, dumb idea.  Now my newest crazy idea is fruits and vegetables and keeping a food journal.  So, I start today, fruits and vegies only, and water, I did have coffee this morning, it may take a few days to be able to give that up, but I will soon.  I just feel so desparate and want this weight off soon, but I know it will take time.  I plan to excersize daily too, walking and Curves.  Wish me luck, I'll keep you posted.  Also, I think I will add flax seed oil supplements to my diet.  Let me know what you think, but I am really wanting to do this, so hopefully you won't tell me not to.  Who knows, maybe in four months I'll be skinny and become a vegetarian.  Just wanted to share my plan with you all.  Thanks for listening, Bellski

You will definateley loose weight. My mom moved to help me with my UC and started cooking and eating lots of vegetables and lost a lot of weight without even working out. But be carefull with any big dietary change b/c our digestive tracks are more sensitive than normal.

More power to you for taking this challange on, GOOD FOR YOU, and I mean that literally as well...if you're indulging in fruits and veggies (wise choice) you can pretty much eat that to your hearts content....anything eles, use portion control, that will get easier as you go and remember, to keep it off is a life-style not a diet fad.

I ahve found that since I have been off the fried foods and sweets... and eating more fruits and vegetables I have felt more full and don't have to eat as much. :) Good luck on your new diet mission !!

Hi Bellski,

Good luck, you can do it!! I believe exercise will be very beneficial. Even just walking, I use a pedometer every day to count my steps. My goal everyday is 10,000 steps (I don't always make it) People have told me at least 100 calories less a day and 10,000 steps will help melt away some extra weight. The pedometer is a good motivator, it's fun to see how many steps you got and makes you want to walk. It also counts aerobic steps after 10 min of non stop walking. I use the Omron brand, I have the one that has software for the computer and you download your data and it keeps track for you. I like it a lot, it's around 35.00, but worth it. Have a great day.

2 excellent choices bellski, those are both high fibre, so do be careful, drink tons of water too, you'll see a big difference with that...and know that I'm personally encouraging you all through your venture...I've been there once due to pred weight-gain and it's tough but it can be done.
