Has anyone tried tanalbit for yeast overgrowth? I had some parasite testing done at Dr. Amin's lab in AZ. The results were that I didn't have any parasites but heavy yeast overgrowth. He suggested to try Tanalbit for six to eight weeks. Was wondering if anyone else has also tried Tanalbit. Thanks.

I had the same test done by the same lab. He said the same thing. No parasites, "heavy yeast" overgrowth. He sugessted tanalbit and I ordered two bottles. However, did not take them.

Why? Bacause I was at the time of the test and am still am taking "Florastor" which contains a type of "good yeast". I asked the Dr. about the Florastor and if that is what he was seeing on his test results. He said he wasn't familar with florastor and couldn't tell one strain of saccharomyces yeast form another.

Thanks, PF. I wonder if he is giving the same results to everyone. :) Luckily, I have been symptoms free for past three-four months, even before the lab test. I am going to give Tanalbit a try, considering the cost/risk(?) are low.

I had the test done too. Basically the same results as you two. I had Yeast and candida with a 1 next to it and dividing/pathology. I also had bad bacteria and pollen found in my stoo. Only those for things. He never told me to take anything, b/c I wasn't a doctor he wouldn't say anything to me! What number did you two have next to what was found?

I had 3 next to "Yeasts", 1 next to Yeasts (diving/pathology), 1 Undiested tissue, 2 Bacteria (normal bacilli), 1 Pollen

Freakzilla, they don't tell you anything because you need to $100/hour(It might be for half-hour..I forget) for "consultation" with Dr. Amin. I think they are okay if you have your doctor call them as well but I could be wrong about that.

I had the parasite testing done and he said no to yeast, he thought I had a bacteria problem. This is confirmed by my current doctor, so know I don't think he gives out the same results. I had it done last year.

Has anyone tried the Tanalbit yet? If so, what's your protocol with it! Our results are all different still.... I only had 1 next to yeast & candida. So, this is a good sign!

I had no undigested tissue, no pollon,  but i did have a 2 Bacteria (normal bacilli) and a 1 next to geotrichum.

I forked over the $100 for a 1/2 hour consult to talk with the Dr. on staff. Didn't really want then to fax this to my regulat GP or GI Doctor. They both would be like ***, I didn't order these test?

newucpat,

They fax the results to whomever you want. May be it's supposed to be faxed to a doctor's office. I just put in my own fax number and put my doctor's name for the primary care physician's name. I don't think they really care about that because they probably want to make extra $100 on the consultation. I doubt my doctor would know what to make of the results anyway. Unlike blood test results with exact numbers, the scale is 1-5(light to heavy). If there are no signs for a particular criteria that field is left blank. Hope that helps.
