Hi all, I have been having a ton of medical issue and would really like your input

about 2 months ago I started having a dull constant pain that is abot 2 inches left of my belly button which spread to my back. Two weeks ago I had such a dibilitating pain there that I had to go to the ER, I could hardly breathe it hurt so bad. They did an ultra sound of kidneys etc, all was fine The hurtful pain did not last more thatn 20 min. I had this pain 5 yrs ago same area which landed me in the hospital as well, have had it a few times since but not even close to as bad.

about 1 month ago I started getting severe migratory pain in my joints and bones, mainly feet, toes, ankle-sometimes lasting an hour, sometimes a minute. I have had pulsating quick deep pains in my spine off and on too My joints have bee popping out of place and cracking like crazy-very unusual for me. Outside of that I have been very tired and just feeling sick, along with some night sweats.

For the past 2 weeks I have had frequent loose bowels, every time after I eat and right when I wake up.  For the past week I have had diarrhea everytime after eating. Normally in the past I have hard small stools, if I can even go at all.

My GI doc thinks I have colitis. He is doing a colonoscopy on 8-8 after he looks at labs of my stools.

I have had a few CBC, thyroid, Sed rate, RA labs all came back okay.

My question to you all is-do you have very hurtful joint/bone pain that moves around and ANY other symptoms? I have been so scared that I have bone cancer. I am 33 feeling like I am 93 and have been a wreck over this.

Feedback appreciated.

Ulcerative colitis is often accompanied by arthritis, with pain in the joints, muscles, tendons. My arthritis actually started several years before my GI symptoms. Sounds as if your GI is following the standard accepted procedure for diagnosis.

Bone cancer can be painful, but that pain doesn't move around. If there is a cancer in, say, the left leg, the pain would be limited to that leg. So it's highly unlikely that is the issue. Remember too, our bodies are controlled by our minds. Anxiety, fear and worry can really increase symptoms such as arthritis.

I'm sure your GI has told you this, but NSAID's (aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen) are not recommended for people with GI problems as they can cause GI bleeding in some people. Until you know for sure what's going on, try to stick to Tylenol for pain relief.

Its very hard to say what it could be without a colonoscopy. That is pretty much the only definitive way to know for sure. If it is colitis, it could also be caused by the bacterial infection C.Diff, especially if you are a constant user of antibiotics. The sore joints are part of UC for many people, but can also be attributed to many other things. I find a hot salty bath REALLY helps with the painful joints. Its also great to help me relax.

Thank you both and thank you Judilyn for calming me down some. I guess I am worried about luekeima, though I did have a couple cbc with smears and they came back fine...apparently it is can usually be determined by looking at white cells, though bone marrow tests are the best. I have noticed a few odd like bumps on my hands and a few red dots which makes me worry about the cancer.

Ahh, anyway...so I have had this stomach pain and issue for years. My question with colitis is does it always cause loose stools? When I have had the pain before it did not cause loose stools, this has just come of recently. I go to the bathroom about 8 times a day when before I was more constipated but always felt like I had to when it was just gas. Sorry, I know...not a pretty subject.

Can you explain your arthritic pain to me? Mine recently just pulsates in random spots including my spine, recently it just lasts in one area under a minute?

With UC you can have both (or either or) constipation or diarrhea. IBS can also have both.
