Do any of you ladies take Midol?  Is there ibuprophen in it?  I am not suppose to take ibuprophen and aspirin type products.  I could realy use some midol.  Let me know what you think. Thanks, Bellski

There are different formulations of Midol and Pamprin. You will have to read the ingredients to be sure. I use a blue bottle of Pamprin - it has acetominophen. I mistakenly picked up a different formula one time - after I took one dose I noticed it had ibuprofen in it :( That bottle hit the trash.

The Midol menstrual complete I use has 500mg acetaminophen, 60 mg caffeine, and 15 mg Pyrilamine maleate whatever that is? I do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, or whatever is in Aleve? Don't want my gut torn up.
Diagnosed with left sided UC in sigmoid colon and rectum 1986.
Put on Azulfidine 2 X 3 a day and Rowasa enemas 60mg.
Have been pretty much in remission overall other than a few flares over the past 21 years.
Medicine changed to Asacol 400mg 2 pills X3 times a day. Taken off all meds in 2004.
Diagnosed with acid reflux 2005. Put on Protonix 40mg.
Have been using Canasa 1000mg suppositories nightly since January 2007.
Was put back on Asacol 400mg 2 pills 2X a day in July 2007 maintenance.

Ya know, I don't take anything like that anymore. It really sucks. But, I think that's what might have causes my symptoms to show up before I was diagnosed.

I think I take Tylenol when things get really bad for cramps and stuff. But that never seems to work so I try taking a walk or a heating pad.
21 years old

Diagnosed with moderate/severe UC June 2007(undiagnosed a while before that. It was terrible. I had to take most of my finals for that semester next to the bathroom).

Now taking Lialda 3x a day, and just started taking Entocort(3 pills in the morning) on 5/29/08. Now I'm down to just one a day for about a week then it's back to just my Lialda and iron.

Severely anemic, now taking 3 65mg iron tablets a day.

I know what you mean, I used to take advil all of the time for different reasons (back, head, etc.) I think it may have contributed to my problem too. But who really knows. I do miss it at times, it worked so much better than tylenol.

Man do I miss my Advil!! :) I too took alot of Advil for various aches and pains until I realized that it was a major no no in which my GI never told me! grr.....In fact, last week I was telling my MIL that I would do anything to be able to take Advil again for my back and neck. Who knows...maybe if and when I ever have the ole colon yanked I can get back on it :) But as for menstrual pain, I agree - you just have to read the ingredients and make sure that it doesn't have any anti-inflammatories. I used to get HORRIBLE gut wrenching, down for a 2 day count, hot pry bar trying to tear my hips apart type menstrual cramps and the only thing that even remotely touched it was Darvocet and heating pads. I am so glad those days are over! I had an endometrial ablation last October and haven't had a period since. I am in heaven when it comes to that now!
