since my flare 2 weeks ago i have been dead horrible to my wife and short with my kids. this is only the second flare i have had but my first was no where near as bad as this one. my joint pain is the worst, it makes my dead grumpy, not to the extent that i want to hurt anyone, thankfully. the tiredness is unbelievable and if i get woken up during a short sleep, im ssooooo grouchy!!! it takes some time to recover to some sort of niceness. im a manger at work and have even short with my staff aswell, which is sooooo not like me. also i love my food but i have just gone off food altogether lately. i need to loose some weight anyway, lol....
this colitis really gets me down :-(

realizing it is half the battled. Try apologizing and starting over. I hope you feel better soon. We always hurt the ones we love. Try to get good sleep too.

We know how you feel, but no one means more to us than our immediate family...apologize and move on.

Try cutting out sugars & milk and see if your energy returns.

Are you on Pred? It is notorious for that. Make people aware that you are having a rough time and might be short with them but that you don't mean it. When you do realize what you have done always apologize. Try to recognize when you are getting moody and walk away before you say something you regret. That is what I do when I am PMSing. I feel my blood boil, feel myself getting emotional, realize it is irrational, say "I just need a few minutes" and walk away. PS: Hugs always make me feel better too....
