Im in the middle of a moderate flare which started about a month ago. i was having around 7 bm daily which i have reduced to around 4 by being stricter about avoiding lactose, bad fats and high sugared foods.

However last night i started getting new stomach pains, not too sure how to describe them... maybe like my colon is getting pinched in quite a few places. Also i have only had one bm this morning but it was miniscule and not because i needed to, just because i was busting to pee and was already on the loo.

Should i be worried about inflammation severe enough to cause blockages? are blockages often serious? Or is this just another one of the boring consequences of UC?

It sounds like your rectal sigmoid area are inflammed. What medications are you on? We don't make it mandatory but we like our members to create a signature of the meds and supplements they are on as well as the extent of your Uc. It makes the whole can we help you game easier if we know more of your history. If you need help creating a sig just let one of us mods know - and remember if you create a sig to use 10 lines or less. But to answer your question, sometimes in a flare I get the same way where I can barely go or I end up constipated and then I have to use Miralax. Then I will end up on rectal meds and it eases the inflammation in there and it makes it much more comfortable to go. Are you on rectal meds?
