Finally some progress. Yesterday was a good day I ate well and kept protein in all of my meals and drank plenty of water. I had been concerned because of lack of appetite and blood loss. Plus the Predinisone was driving me crazy no sleep an jittery feeling all day and depression. Something happened yesterday though I just started getting my appetite back and this morning there was very little blood. Also the thrush in my mouth is almost gone (I used a tongue scrapper and have been eating yogurt). I took two tylenal PM last night and actually got some sleep for the first time in two weeks. Lowered my Asacol to 5 pills from 12 since that is what worked for me last time. I think twelve might have been two much. Now I need to try these rectal meds everyone discusses.

How long does it normally rake for Prednisone to work for everyone else. I hate the side effects I got moon face, acne and gained 18 pounds in two months last time. I guess if I am going to gain weight again I can use it now since I am a 33 year old man 5'10 and down to 140 pounds. Also how important do people think a good nights sleep is? I think the lack of it was putting me into a steroid psychosis!

Also could it be all of the antibiotics I was given through my IV on Thursday for my appendix surgery which made any difference?
Prednisone 40mg a day
Asacol 400mg 4 pills 3 times a day
