Well, four nights with Protofoam and each day seems like more cramping and more blood in the morning.  Can this happen before I start to see improvement? NP told me to call if I had question/problems - so tomorrow I will call is worse.
Also, do others have nightsweats with UC.  I have had them for years but way past menopause now and the continue a couple times a night - not bad but heating up and throwing covers off.
Thanks!

I would say that if your symptoms get worse than you should run it by your doc. I've never used proctofoam, but since you have increased blood in the morning, could the extra volume be from blood that has mixed your medicine?

I have had night sweats duriing the few years I have known I have UC. I am in my forties so I am never certain if it is caused by hormones or not, but if I were to choose I would choose the UC since I have no other symptoms of early menopause.

I'd check with your doc if your symptoms do not improve. I've had night sweats on and off since I was diagnosed. If I don't sleep with a fan right by my bed blowing on me full blast I will not sleep well.

Thanks AngelTT!
Congrats on your first child. Hope all goes well. I have four grandchildren - three were invitro. Modern miracles!
I was told from about age 55 that I was having menopausal sweating - however, it was only at night. Boy, when I look back with diagnosis of IBS - the gastro doctor and I think I have really had colitis for many years - only started ulcerative a few months ago - bleeding sent me to specialist. You never know.

Hi there,

I have been suffering from night sweats too, it started towards the peak of my recent flair up, I know what you're going through it's so uncomforatable, I was sleeping on towels and sweating through 4 or 5 t-shirts a night, they've been going for about three to four weeks ... I've been on Pred for 8 days now, just dropped my dose from 40 mgs a day, to 30 mgs a day yesterday, and last night was my first sweat free night.

I hope this is the end of it, fingers crossed.  I'm sure it is related to the UC flair, because I've never had nightsweats before (except when I've had like flu or something) and I'm a boy so, clearly, it's not related to menopause or anything.

I hope yours stop soon, I feel for you.
