How does coffee effect you?

I'm tapering on prednisone and my BMs are normal. Coffee always makes me have to go, sometimes before I'm done with the cup! I'll have some in the morning, have my morning BM and then I'm ready for the day. I just recently added coffee back into my diet, I'm wondering how bad coffee is for you, especially while on prednisone.

I added it back while I was still on prednisone (this is all within the past 2 months). I have a cup and a half--nothing like my pre-UC 4 cups, but I missed it and it helps move things along in the morning. I haven't had any ill effects, on prednisone or off.

It did when my flare was at its worst but I've been pretty tolerant. They do much coffee that is made to be easier for people to digest. I think its probably Folgers. I thank god everyday that I can handle! My world would end otherwise!

Coffe is a stimulant so it will have that effect for almost everyone.

I drink decaf coffee and on the weekend I drink @ 4 cups and I am in the bathroom at least 6 times with diarrhea.  Can't go anywhere for a while until it stops.

Coffee gets me going in the morning. Without it, I get severe headaches and constipation. I have been drinking coffee for so long that I refuse to give it up! :) Sometimes it makes me go once or twice in the morning but while flaring it can make me go up to 6 times a day with D. That is the time I limit my intake.
