I wanted to let everyone know (especially the newbies) of a book that helped us alot. It is called
"100 Questions & Answers about Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis: A Lahey Clinic Guide" by Andrew S. Warner.
It is a very easy to understand book about IBDs. It discusses everything from symptoms, treatments, side effects, surgery, quality of life, fertility, etc. It is easy to navigate through the book so you can read through the whole thing (there are 100 questions and answers) or just find what you want to read. It was published in 2007 so the treatments are pretty up-to-date.
We found the book at the library and I must have taken it out at least 5 times. I always said I would buy the book (never did though).
I just thought I would let others know that this is a great book that discusses all the technical aspects of the disease but in a very understandable way. Between this forum and the book, I went into the doctor appointments well prepared.
Hope this helps someone.
