Ever since I was discharged from the hospital two months ago I have had a problem with losing my voice by the end of the day. It doesn't disappear completely, but it sounds like I am getting over a cold. Sometimes it starts to go by lunchtime and sometimes it isn't until later at night. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this odd occurrence? All of the medications I am taking are listed in my signature.

Do you have any season allergy problems? I lose my voice all the time. Mine seems to be related to allergies.

I agree with the above reasons. I have both allergies and acid reflux. I end up losing my voice a lot as well. A few times due to allergies, I lost my voice completely. Which is majorly frustrating on my part but humorous to my hubby :)

I just started asacol so  I was reading the insert earlier today and noticed that pharyngitis was listed fourth as a side effect reported in trials of the drug.  It doesn't fit your explanation exactly, so perhaps it could be related.

I don't think it's due to allergies as I have never had an issue with them in the past. I've also been tested for all of the common ones and everything came back negative. As for Asacol, I've been taking it for four years now and this only started recently.

I do think acid reflux might be the culprit, though. I've been having some of the other symptoms that go along with it and so I have a call into my GI to talk to him about it.

Hi..you should see an ENT to make sure you don't have anything going on with your larynx.

Did you recently get over a cold?
