According to my doctor, no. But wanted to check with others to see if running could trigger bleeding. I don't have any other symptoms. I was free of bleeding for over six months. It could be coincidental. Thanks.

I dont run but use the treadmill and sometimes I have to go while on it, I think it gets my system moving. but should not cause blood.

I jogged before and after my UC diagnosis and though I often get runner's diarrhea I don't recall running ever causing me to bleed if I wasn't bleeding already.
UC diagnosed 10/05, first symptoms 1983

I would say that if your running is too much, meaning distressing your body, it could trigger an autoimmune response...are you bleeding with each bm?   But, if you're bleeding, the tissue in the colon is in a state of fragility.
Low in the rectum inflammation won't cause many other symptoms except urgency  or constipation.

Do you have hemorrhoids?  Did the doc take a look to see if there's anything actually happening in there?

Good point about hemorrhoids. Not having any other symptoms at the moment. Not in pain or anything like that. Thanks.

It depends on the fribility of your intestines. But with that you would have pain. So I would lean more towards hemmies.

Honestly, I can't run or do any exercises that involve jumping up and down or moving around alot because I just end up running straight for the bathroom. In fact, when I feel like I have to go but can't, I just jump around a bit or move my hips around like I'm doing the hoola hoop thing and then I'll be going in a matter of minutes.
