Right.. i had to ring up my nurse today for an emergency appointment.. i have an ileostomy but they left the last bit of my large intestine there and its being a nuisance!!

She gave me Prednisolone suppositories and ive got some asacol suppositories..
We was discussing having the surgery to have that last part of my intestine removed.. But she also told me there is a risk of being impotent and not being able to have kids or sex.

Only being 18 years old i am really really distraught and worried.. ive always wanted a family of my own and my own little babies, and everyone loves sex ;) lol..

I wouldnt have minded if i was say 60 years old.. but im not..

Is there anyone who can help me out?! Any experience, knowledge or understanding about this?

Would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi , I'm 41 and will not be able to produce sperm naturally because on nerve damage from J-pouch surgery. Its very common , but not to panic. They can extract the sperm from you. Ask your doctor about this. I can still perform the act. The feeling is there. Its just nothing will come out. The docs know all about this. I know its hard to ask. I felt embrassed about it, but they seem to have seen a lot of this. Check out the j-pouch websites for mens medical questions. Joe

Firthy, try j-pouch.org. Not many of us here have had the surgery. Good luck.

Judilyn is right on. Thats the website I was talking about. Go to male issues and you will see tons of stuff relating to your problem. Good luck. Westy
