Typically how long does it take Cortenema to kick in?  I have inflammation 15 cm.  It's day 3 no relief yet.  Thanks for your help.

My experience has been very good with them. Within a week, usually 4 - 5 days. But, it's one of those things that works differently for different people. Good Luck, I hope you see some improvement soon.

In a flare for 2 very long years which Asacol didn't help at all.  Finally in remission again since Jan 2008, can't believe it..............

I just started using corenemas for the first time after my flare up peaked. I noticed a significant level of relief the next day, and I'm getting back to normal much faster with them instead of just mesalamine enemas.

Can you retain it overnight? Your relief will be proportional to the length of time you can retain-- 8 hours is about optimum. If you have trouble retaining, you might ask your doctor to prescribe Cortifoam (10% steroid rectal foam-- (looks like shaving lather & goes in easily with reusable applicator) to speed healing in the rectum. I'm having the same experience as sushik.  I used them last night and this morning and today (knock on wood, crossing my fingers, etc) I'm feeling significantly better.
