Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone has had any results from any form of alternative medicine? Either to help gain remmision from an average state, or to help control a flare up.

Thanks,
Keith

I have read about Aloe Vera Drink and also Bee Popolis - I will know more this afternoon after I see a Naturopath. I wouldn't come off medication though, I'd use any natural stuff alongside the meds just to be sure.

Diagnosis Oct 07 and then Aug 08: Patchy Ulcerative Pancolitis or Chrohn's Colitis to be confirmed after biopsy.
Medication: 4000mg Pentasa a day, 5mg Clipper Steroid (Beclometasone dipropionate) for 30 days

Bee careful with some bee by-products (propolis, pollen, royal jelly, honey) if you are allergic to bee stings or have allergies to pollen. I've been told that sometimes some of these products can cause adverse reactions in some who have allergies.

the aloe juice itself is not recommended for ppl w/UC, there is another derivative from the aloe plant that is supposed to be ok, but if you take the juice be careful.

I took aloe supplements from GNC for a month. Didn't seem to do anything. Tried lots and lots of juiced wheat grass and dried wheat grass in pill form for a month as well, and that didn't seem to help. I tried acupuncture a couple times and that didn't do a thing.
