I am down to 5mgs of prednisone and about to drop to 2.5 on Friday. I am wondering as far as maintenance meds....what works better canasa or rowasa? Currently I am doing canasa in the AM and switching between rowasa and cort enema at night. I really only do the cort enema 2x a week and do the rowasa the rest.

My flare started back in June. My BM's are down to 2 a day. I did see a speck of blood this morning...but missed my enema last night (is that why???). I am going to my GI on Friday and I know she is going to ask me what I WANT TO DO. I dont know. ....

It depends on how high your inflammation is. If it's just rectal you should be able to get by with just Canasa but if it's higher then it's best to use Rowasa.

Then I would go with the Canasa if it was me. If the Canasa doesn't seem to work then maybe you can go to the Rowasa for maintenance.
