Yeah, ok I know - corny title but I bet it got your attention eh?  tongue    There has been some stressful situations these past few days on the Uc forum.  So let's touch base again why HW is such a wonderful place ok?  We have a wonderful community and we have such awesome, caring, giving and compassionate people from all over the world to share their ideas, vent their frustrations, ask for help etc.  So let's not let these past couple days scare you away from posting ok?  I know when new members come online and they see these types of posts that they think "Whoa! Not another board that has drama?!" or "Wow, what kind of board is this???"  We are not typically like this and even the most even keeled person can have a bad day - yes me too!  So let's let bygones be bygones.  We are all human and we can not be perfect.

So lets get back on track and start posting supportive things in which Healingwell was intended ok?

Great to see you all on the happy train! :0) Lordy that sounds so corny doesn't it?? lol But anyway, my happy train is that my neck is feeling better (Uc isn't though), the sun is shining and I have the WHOLE house to myself! Now that is a rarity that I intend to relish!

I'm on the happy train too.

After all of my summer of feeling so bad, I'm finally 'normal' again. Better late than never! I'll take it. :-)

I am with you Sherry.  I hardly ever come on here because of the doom and gloom.  My son is doing so much better, but so many negative posts make me think.....well, this can't last or when is the shoe going to drop.  I am enjoying Bennie's posts so much because she is incredibly upbeat, and a Mother as well.  She is my idol :) Thanks to all of you at HW and for all of your work to keep us informed. Happy train....I am on it.

Happy to hear your son is doing well.

This isn't UC related but I thought maybe you all could get a good laugh out of this too . .. . it really was the turning point of my weekend.  . . .

So I now am coping with a VERY active 19 month old in a cast from toe to hip and we've been told to keep him from putting weight on it as much as we can  shocked   . .spoken like a doc that hasn't ever had a child.  So Saturday he was getting pent up feeling and causing me to get stressed about him trying to walk so I decided to get us out of the house.  We stopped in at the mall and ended up getting him 2 new T-shirts that had me in stitches for hours.

Shirt #1  "I do all my own stunts"

Shirt #2   skull   Pirate in Training" skull

The stunt shirt has a stick man on it with the legs going in different directions. . . .it's hysterical! My husband shot soda from his nose when I showed him later. .. . .guess I should have waited until his mouth was empty huh?  blush

Thanks Quincy. You are right.  It may be a reality that some will not get better.  It is also a reality that some people live happy, productive lives with UC. Being the Mom, and not the patient is difficult because I don't ever know exactly what is going on.  One thing I do know is that today was my son's first day of his senior year, and guess what???? Not a single trip to the restroom at school.  We were ecstatic :)  Last year, and the year before, he was in the restroom more than the classroom. (Well, almost.)  Bless you all.  UC Mom.

Kim that is too funny! lol Btw, it only gets better :) My son was in and out of the ER more times then I care to admit because of doing stupid boy stunts. He's 17 now and realizes that these things HURT! So he doesn't do them as much - thank goodness! But I'm talking, broken bones, sprained ankles, whiplash, concussions etc oh yeah, uh huh fun times! LOL

Too funny Kim -- thanks for the smile.

UCMom, good to hear that Jack had such a great first day at school. Good to know that you are both living each day to the fullest and enjoying it! :-)

Thanks Sherry, at first I felt like I was a complete failure as a mom but then the phrase "Boys with be boys" really struck home. I wasn't abusing him and I didn't have him in a harmful area. . . he just fell wrong . . .these things happen and life moves on.

UC Mom that's fantastic!!!!!! Hopefully that's the first of many days he can spend away from the bathroom . . he may not like the extra class time tho LOL

Well I have a funny story too and it isn't even my UC. Which is getting better. Last week I went 4 wheel ridding with my dad. Ya I nearly killed myself but it was fun.

Dad: Now don't let go of the 4 wheeler. Hold on to it...
Me: Ya sure whatever you say.*hits rocks* Umm not good...
Dad: Looks back....I thought I told you to hold on...
Me: Easy for you to say.

I got a nice purpleish bruse for that one rock. But it was worth it.The view was amazing.

I'm on the happy train today because we just got over an inch of rain! We hadn't had significant rain since May, and we're 9 inches below normal for the year so far.

We are bit on the dry side too. And of course, it is calling for rain here on Saturday which normally if it is dry I don't mind. But of all days..........we are only having about 50 people to celebrate my son and daughter's bday! Argh! Cross your fingers for me that the rain holds out so our day can be sunfilled and fun! Besides it's kind of hard to go swimming when it's raining and storming out :(

I'm definitely on the happy train...life is pretty good over here at the moment. Hubby seems to be having more better days than bad. Still more bathroom trips than the average person but the pain and gas seem to be lessening.

Plus we were very lucky insofar as the tropical storm goes where we are located. Hope that it doesn't intensify too much more than is being forecasted and everyone stays safe in its path.

Red, I will be hoping it's dry and sunny Saturday, too, because my friend is planning a canoeing trip for her birthday and I really don't want it to get rained out!
