also ive had 4 flares in 10 years and they have all been in august, ive always wondered why, i thaught stress form going back to school was it at first but i graded high school in '00 so who knows, i love this disease but it could be worse, i have a relative in a wheel chair im sure he would trade me in a second!

Hope your flare passes quickly, maybe adjust your diet to the bland one...I'm also in the midst of a mini flair right now. I met someone just today that not only had colon cancer and had to remove her entire left colon, but also had a double mastectomy as a preventative measure due to the very very high risk of her having breat cancer due to genetics...you're so right it could always be worse and thankfully its not...let's just pray we all get better and certainly not any worse...
Mild to Moderate Pancolitis
Dx'd 05/2007
3 Lialda per day

Probiotics, Bowel Soother, Fish Oil, Calcium, Multi Vitamin and Melatonin
Trying to reduce sugar in my diet but cannot tolerate artificial sweetners
I excersice daily
Did I happen to mention I HATE this disease!!!

I don't think comparing to other diseases or conditions is the best way to perceive or negate having UC. Maybe just be grateful it's not worse...you probably know what that would be like.

NOTAR....have you never been on any of the 5ASA meds...oral/rectal? Maybe adding a rectal med to the mix..either 5ASA or steroid..will help.
I don't know about the dosing for Aza...

Event/time-related flaring definitely happens for many of us....I can see school starting as being one.
