what foods should i try to avoid.

hello,
 
its only been 1 year since ive had UC. i still see a bit of blood and a bit of mucus from time to time but no other symptom. i wanna know what are the foods i really should try to avoid?

If you're not on meds...you should be..you are flaring.

Foods with lactose, highly refined foods can contribute to the mucus as can stress.

You could consider to add a fibre supplement whilch will help in "exercising" the colon as well as sweep/absorb the mucus and help form stools....if stools are hard, it will add bulk..if stools are soft, it will add bulk as well.

~Probiotic 3(Natural Factors Protec) bedtime + 1 (Primadophilus Reuteri) occasionally
~multi-digestive enzymes as needed ....zymactive 3 - 5x daily
~Ranitidine,Pariet (reflux) Effexor XR 75mg;  Pulmicort/Airomir (asthma)
~URSO for PSC (or PBC) 500mg X 2 daily (LFTs back to NORMAL!!)
My doc's logic.. "TREAT (FROM)BOTH ENDS"  worth it !!!

but the blood is not in my stool. sometimes ill just strain a bit and ill see a bit of bright red blood. is that still considered as a flare up or it could be someting else?

Could be hemmies...but "straining" usually is inflammation. Get it checked out....and you shoud be on rectal meds regardless.
