Got my prescription, and tried to take the stuff.  OK, I may be being a baby here, but that stuff tastes like baby vomit.  I have tried mixing it with water, cran-grape juice, orange juice, hawaiian punch.......nothing works to get rid of the awful taste.  Dooes anyone have any ideas of what to mix it with to make it go down a little easier?

I mixed it in blueberry yogurt, but I had the regular strength. You also might try adding a little lemon to any of the liquids to see if that helps.

How do you know what baby vomit tastes like...? (just kidding) =)

How about yogurt or applesauce?

It actually tastes ok if you mix it in vanilla yogurt. Do not mix it in anything acidic like orange juice, it will kill the probiotics and defeat the entire purpose, hope this helps....

What about getting thos empty capsules from whole foods and filling them with the VSL#3Ds and taking those??? Then I wouldn't have to taste it at all. Anything wrong with that? Will that do something to the probiotics??? about the orange juice, I thought that would be fine, because your stomach acid is way more acidic than orange juice???? And about the baby vomit........well, I was throeing my baby around and holding her up and she spit up, and it happened to land in my mouth. My husband laughed so hard, he cried. It really wasn't all that funny to me.

Some kind of fruit yogurt usually does the trick for me... It doesn't mask the taste completely but it's tolerable. Besides, does everything HAVE to taste good? Just drink as fast as you can and be done with it, it gets easier, I promise ;)

My GI says not to have dairy (though never had test to see if I'm lactose intolerant) so I stopped yogurt. Now I put my VSL #3 in cold applesauce.

DocGonzo, it doesn't all have to taste good, but it does help. I figure that I don't eat all that much as it is, and it is all pretty bland, so I shouldn't have to sacrifce everything, should I??? I can't eat anything fried, or anything with lactose, or anything that has lots of sugar, so tasting good is a bonus.

I personally wouldn't want to eat anything that tasted like baby vomit. eww. Funny story, by the way. I'm sure you didn't think it was funny when it happened though. lol.

Do you like chocolate soymilk? I wonder if that would mask the taste at all.

Have you tried the capsules? I've been using them for a couple of weeks, and there is no bad taste, just a horse pill or two to swallow.

I have 60 packets of the powder, and have been putting them in capsules and that helps. just wondering if it affects the probiotic or not?
