Is there anybody on this forum who has Bile Acid Diarrhea as well as their Colitis?

I think I might have it, but Doctors don't seem to listen.

Please tell me your symptoms and how to best treat it.

Yes, I have been getting that more frequently. It started about a year or so ago. It burns like heck! I mentioned this to my doc before and he didn't seem to be concerned about the bile part but he was about the D part and he ended up putting me on Colocorts because I am unable to tolerate the mesalamines enemas. It seemed to help. Once my flare got under control that sort of let up. But I still do have that on occasion but not the acidic part as much. I still get the bile in my stool though.

Oh forgot to mention, my symptoms with it is typical Uc symptoms but the liquid that comes with it is yellowish/green and it burns extremely bad as it is coming out.

Have you tried something like Questran or Welchol?

I think they help, but its really difficult trying to convince your doctor to prescribe them for you.

My GI thinks the burning I get is part of the Colitis symptoms, but I know he's wrong.

I've never even heard of those - maybe Questran not sure. What do they do?

Read the articles from Dr Carey Reams who says that a liver malfunction causes cationic(acidic) bile.

He suggested a lemon juice fast with distilled water which I tried and it worked

Read the links below

"I'm quite convinced the real cause of ulcerative colitis was found in 1976 (and probably even before that).
Dr. Carey Reams discovered some amazing things.. "

I think both of these medicines are for high cholesterol, but they also bind and get rid-of bile acids.

IBS patients with predominately diarrhea symptoms usually are prescribed them as well.

Mudua, what do you mean by it worked?

How did you feel before and after. What were your symptoms like?

I also wonder whether a lemon fast and an ulcerated colon are a good idea?

Ack! I can't even look at a lemon without it bothering my stomach. Acidic things are major no no for me, not only for my Uc but my wacked out stomach too. (I have GERD and/or Gastritis)

Before the lemon fast I was suffering from severe watery D with a terrible burnuing sensation.

After the fast my stools were formed with no burning sensation. My energy levels improved.

Lemon juice can harm the enamel of your teeth and so make sure that you gargle your mouth after each lemon drink.
