For those on Remicade: has Remicade worked for a while, then stopped, and then started working again? Remicade worked for 2 weeks, then I immediately went to flare symptoms (a lot of bleeding, mucous, nausea, etc.) for 2 weeks, and then this past week I was in a near-remission phase (almost no bleeding, firmer stools, but still nausea). Yesterday and today was the first time I saw blood in the last week or so.

For those who've taken Colazal: How long did it take for Colazal to kick in and start working? I've been taking it for a little over a month. Is it possible that Colazal could work even when Asacol and Lialda didn't?

B/c of how bad my symptoms were a couple weeks ago, I already withdrew from classes and scheduled my surgery. But if there's a chance that Colazal is actually working, then I might want to rethink surgery. I'm so confused confused

Have you thought about trying Humira? From what I have read people who stop responding to Remicaid can find relief with Humira.

I have been on Remicaid for about a year and a half it is still working but I have changed insurance and the remicaids is not covered as well anymore. I have been told that Humira is a great alternative to remicaid.

I went against my Dr.'s orders and got off the colozal and after two days bleeding and cramping stopped. Something to think about.

I believe that Colazal is actually helping me and Remicade isn't doing much. My GI says Humira won't be approved by my insurance company, which is fine b/c I'd rather get surgery then take more biologics. I just want to know if it's possible that a different 5ASA (Colazal) can help when a bigger drug like Remi doesn't.

I suppose my scope tomorrow will should how bad inflammation is and maybe I'll get a better idea.
