Anyone out there ever try coconut oil supplements? I've heard they help with digestion and such. I'm on meds but I will try anything to go into complete remission and stay there for as long as possible.

I used to take caprylic acid pills, they might have helped, but might not have. It's hard to tell.

They did have an incredibly awful taste if you don't swallow them on the first gulp.

I did the coconut oil capsules three times a day, began using coconut milk in my cereal and also for cooking, and started using coconut oil instead of olive oil. After a couple of months I decided the only thing I was doing was increasing my caloric intake, with no health benefits that I noticed. So that went by the wayside. Keep in mind that what did or didn't work for others doesn't necessarily mean that it will/won't work for you. Trial and error is the best way to find out what is helps you. No harm in trying something new, especially if it might be your ultimate relief from GI problems.

I started using coconut oil just because it's better than most of the other oils. I still use olive oil for low heat and salad stuff, but coconut oil for most baking and cooking. No need to use it as a supplement if you are cooking with it.....

I tried using caprylic acid pills for a while and it did nothing for me...in fact I still have the capsules in the cupboard. However, as part of my candida elimination diet I use MYCOPRYL 680, I take 4 capsules three times a day (originally I took twice that for a few weeks). Initially, I experienced "die off" but after a few days I felt better...It's expensive stuff.

ps.
It doesn't make sense taking this unless you're controlling your starch intake.

I eat fresh coconut and drink the milk/juice right out of the fresh coconut it's very healthy for you...I swear by extra virgin olive oil as well (inside and out).
