any one have any ideas to get rid of lingering mucus expulsions during the day...it happens two or three times and first thing in the morning.....no blood, just a shot glass full of mucus....does anyone think proctofoam will help?  non tolerant to asa's.  Colozal wors on me but after 5 days i get multiple more watery movements and cramps....as soon as i stop it goes away.  I still have a little blood in the am but formed stool if not on colozal......very frustrating....yes i do take a fiber supplement as well.

You may have IBS too which means mucous is normal. I am certain all of us being so stressed doesn't help.

Diagnosis Oct 07 and then Aug 08: Inditerminate Patches of Mild Colitis (including Rectum) - Currently Minor Bleeding
Medication: 1000mg Mesalazine Suppository at night.

landcruiser.....I think you should have the doctor do a culture on it. Since it's persisting and you're having to pass it upon urges, something more could be going on.

Whaddyathink?

No..you should have it checked to make sure nothing else is going on. Adding an antibiotic to the mix will only confuse the issue...assuming it's been taken care of if you improve.
I don't know...for me, I'd rather know what "it" could be before treating it.

When I have mucus or "stuff",it's pretty much when I'm flaring....but on occasion, if I eat too much of something that's rich in fat or spices or out of the ordinary for me, I may have some excess production of mucus for a dayor two....it wouldn't be continual, however.

Because what you are having is continuing and it can easily be considered a flare, I'm only suggesting you ask your doctor to culture it in case there's something else going on...you know...rather than "ass"uming.

My take on it.
