I am so excited i have to share it! After nearly a 5 month flare my symptoms came to a screeching halt this last monday.  I cant pin point the reason, as my doctor switched up my meds on the 18th of August and didnt see any improvement until this week..3 weeks later, for a time it seemed to be worsening cause he lowered my prednisone from 60mg to 40mg.

Seriously i was having atleast 4 bloody bowel movements in the morning within the first hour then maybe 2-3 throughtout the rest of the day, very gasey too. Then it was like someone turned on a switch. I cut right down to one bowel movement a day and the blood was pretty much gone with littel to no gas or abdominal pain!

Honestly the only other thing i switched up on my own at the time was i stepped it up on my Acidophilus dosage. The bottle said one pill a day, I said what the hell and start taking 3-4 a day one before all meals and did the same with my digestive enzymes. I did that for maybe 4-5 days prior to me feeling alot better.  I have never overcome a flare so suddenly its usually been a slow and steady process, so even this has me kind of curious...

Like i said though i cant pin point the reason, but i am just happy to finally catch a break finally and start tappering these steroids and get off them for a bit :)

Mike, I am so happy for you - that is awesome! I was just diagnosised in August and mine started surfacing last May. I am still flaring, but on the meds now. I look forward to the day when I go into remission, but for now I will just jump up and down w/ joy for your remission!

Have a great weekend!
