Well, I know this is just sheer vanity....but what the hell!!!
Was at a Chief Constable's Commendation award yesterday with the family. It was really well run and the families enjoyed it. I think Chris' (who was my probationer at the time) folks were really taken with the whole ceremony.
Anyway, here's one of the paper spreads about it (bloody awful photo and I think my undercover work is now blown :D )

Diagnosed Indeterminate Colitis 25/11/2007 (update: told by consultant 15/01/08 in his opinion definitely UC).
150mg Azathioprine/Imuran.

Very cool.
When I accomplish something and get accolades (nothing like that, mind you), I want to yell, and I did it with this awful disease, too!! But I don't, shhhhh.
49 year old female attorney, diagnosed UC/pancolitis 1985, no surgery but much suffering.
Asacol/5ASA maintenance for 20+ years, usually 3 pills 2x day. 
Currently tapering OFF prednisone from lingering flare;
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Tested gluten intolerant and started gluten-free, soy-free, etc. diet which resolved flare. Also Replete probiotic, DGL (licorice root, slippery elm), Permeability Factors. Slow-release iron and B-12 shots for severe anemia.
Sept: Mild case of thrush in throat, prescribed antifungal mouthwash.

4 x Liada (4 am)
175mg Azathioprine
2 x Imodium (on days where I have to leave the house)
Remicade infusion starting
1 x 1000mg Fish Oil Cap
Activia yogurt and SCD-like foods to see if I can make a change. Just got in my 4 day trial of Haldi.

Wow! People always talk about people bravely fighting disease or enduring abuse, but we really have little choice about those things, do we? You had a choice, and risked your own life to save another. Now that's bravery to me!

Pancolitis since 2003. Osteopenia. Multi-vitamin, calcium, omeprazole, benefiber, boniva, Lialda, Rowasa enema, enablex, pro-biotics. Former Remicade user.

Dx:  UC Proctitis 2006 
Meds:  None so far. Garlic works to ease flares. My GI laughed when I told him and said it was just coincidence. 
Started Meds:  Apr 9 08 500mg 5ASA (salofalk) to ease flare, tapering, stopped. 
Diet:  Regular fresh garlic, Biobest yogurt daily, Omega 3 supplements, very limited junk food, carbs and processed food, low fat diet.  Lots of fresh fruit and veggies (limited potatoes). 
 Added: tumeric and probiotics.

My grandfater was a police sargent who died in the line of duty so my hats off to you guys for all you do, your job is never easy.
