Just checking in I was in the hospital for 19 days I got home Monday I am still weak and recouping. It was a good thing I made the choice to go in. Luckily my doc had me admitted without going to the er which was a blessing. I had two blood transfusions. It seems my colon was so inflamed they were considering removal but they have been pumping me with steriods an IV kind in there now just pred. Also found I had C diff so I have been on vancomicin and almost throught with that. I started a first remicaid and I think I have my next one tuesday. At this point I just want it all to end I am even open to surgery. How long does remicaide take to work. I still have diariah but it seems my bleeding is gone.

Maybe its a good thing they found the Cdiff as hopefully it's been contributing to your symptoms and once treated you'll feel better. I have heard it takes 6-12 weeks for 6mps to work but I'm not sure about Remi. Hope you are feeling better very soon and it sounds like you're on the right path.

Wow...seems your past symptoms were pointing in the right direction...it's a good thing you decided to go to the hospital.

I hope your road to recovery is smooth and that your doc keeps up with the stool tests to make sure the c-diff has gone.

Keep us posted as to how you're doing....

Your situation is close to what mine was like except I was only in the hospital for 16 days and the C.diff tests were negative. I started Remicade in Feb and it worked pretty quickly, within a few weeks. I'm noticing the beginnings of a flare right now though so I don't know if it stopped working. I think maybe I wasn't ready to go to 8 weeks between infusions though. My doc bumped up my next infusion and is going to keep me on 6 weeks between infusions for a while so hopefully things clear up.
