I haven't had any bleeding in several weeks. My stools are finally formed stools. And I can eat almost anything (I just have to avoid greasy foods and foods with a cream base like ice cream, sour cream, etc.). I've been averaging 1-4 bowel movements per day. But yesterday I didn't have one at all. Then this morning, I had one that was formed, but bloody. It was a little difficult, so maybe the blood was due to over-exertion?

I will be going in for my third Remicade infusion on Thursday morning (which is the final infusion of the first phase - I had one 6 weeks ago and another 4 weeks ago). Should I just wait and see what happens? Maybe it was a one-time thing? If not, maybe the Remicade treatment on Thurs will take care of it? Or is one bloody stool enough to be alarmed, and should I page my doctor?

i think that anything concerning blood should be talked about with your doc, at least your not living in doubt you know? if you feel like your doctor should know this information before your visit then call him, do you think it was something you ate maybe something that you haven't tried to eat in a while? i hope you feel better i always got stressed out before going to the doctors

Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, and forget about the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance take it, if it changes your life let it. Nobody said it was going to be easy they just promised it would be worth it.

Blood on the outside of a formed stool is often a hemmie, yes. Now that you're doing better, you may want to cautiously increase your fiber and fluid intake to keep everything moving along. Constipation and straining are the chief culprits in hemorrhoid formation.

So happy you're feeling better, though. Remicade can be a godsend for some of us!

Thanks for the responses. I had a second BM this morning and there was only a little blood on the toilet paper, nothing on the stools. I don't have any experience with hemmorhoids, so I don't know what to watch for. I thought they were supposed to be really painful or something.

Anyways, I am feeling better after my second trip to the bathroom. And as always, I appreciate the feedback on this forum.

Gemini:

I too had 2 good days, both Saturday and Sunday. OMG it was a FABULOUS feeling! On Sunday I didn't have a movement either. Over the weekend, I splurged and had my first bite of red meat - meatloaf on Saturday and 3/4th's of a homemade hamburger yesterday. Oh and I also had a small piece of chocolate cake for my daughters birthday. Anyway, today I have already had 9 movements and my stomach is tender and very bloated.
