ok another question, whats with all the bruises on my legs? i don't remember bumping into anything but still i wake up with bruises all over the place, id really love to wear my shorts or a skirt before the somewhat warm weather goes away...i somewhat bruise easily but this is ridiculous theres no way that i hit like 20 things all in different places...for people who bruise easily how do you get rid of them fast? i heard eating pineapples daily makes them go away.

Could be the Lialda, the protonix or the albuterol/Advair....

Are you taking any garlic, vitamin E, fish oil, flax seed oil?

I have tons of bruises all over my legs and sometimes my arms and stomach. I get big ones on my legs.
My baby stepped on my arm today and now I have a big purple bruise that still hurts.

As for getting rid of them...can't help you...they don't bother me too much.
Though, they do take a lonnng time to heal.

Suffered for my whole life before being diagnosed.

Currently on:

Salofalk
1500mg x 4/day
Entocort 6mg once a day
Imuran 150mg once a day

quincy,

i do take flinstones complete cuz the one a day for women made my stomach upset but no i don't take any of those other things but i have been curious about the flax seed oil ive read about it on here many times but i really love garlic things like garlic bread and pasta with garlic sauce plus anything i cook i find some reason to put minced garlic in it like when im asking to be sick by eating my shrimp curry!!! but what do those specific things do? would the bruises change if i took something like flax seed oil or fish oil? my doc said it could be because of the lialda or the protonics and sent me to go get lab work done but then i lost my health insurance before my appointment so it didn't seem logical to pay hundreds of dollars to just investigate bruises, but im scared their gonna change my prescription because of this and every single time they change something it makes me flare up. then i started worrying about them cuz like asia, i get big bruises on my legs then small ones on my arms and they take FOREVER to disappear, is there anything i could do to make these go away faster with out switching my scripts?

Hi..garlic, flaxseed oil, vitamin e and omega oils are all anticoagulants. Salicylates are as well....

I take salicylates (5ASA meds) and aspirin for headaches. Tylenol..I'm trying to go easy on my liver.

I did have a coagulation test...mine was perfect...but my skin is thin/fragile, again inherited quality on my dad's side.

I bump myself constantly....but weird is that I fell down the stairs, slamming on my shoulder, dislocated and then back into place at the same time...not one bruise in that area. Go figure!

I do get worse when I take too many aspirin. So, I'm watching that.

Vitamin C is supposed to help strengthen the blood vessels as well as Vitamin A and something else I forget. Foods that are "blue" from berries are good strengthing for vessels. I'll look into more berries for dessert...

hope this helps.

I bruise really easily too. I don't have a ton of bruises, but I do wake up sometimes with bruises on my legs and not remember where I got them. I'm kind of clumsy at times, so it's probably just me running into walls and tables and the like.

I bruise easily, always have even before getting sick with IBD (I have crohn's colitis, CD affecting my colon) my mom also has IBD (UC specifically) and she too bruises easily, so far we are the only ones in the family that have an IBD and are the only ones whom bruise easily, BTW, neither of us take RX for our IBD.

:)
My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)
