Been in a flare since April.  No pain, just bright red blood with every bowel movement.  Some days I have multiple BMs, some days only one or two but always with bleeding.  Down to 5 mgm of prednisone, Colazal, 50 mgm 6 MP, Cort enemas alternate nights with Canasa...getting frustrated seeing this blood.  Is it possible to cauterize the ulcers in the rectum?  You think Nexium would help, since it helps ulcers in the stomach?

How is your diet? I often think I have more bleeding when I "cheat" and eat foods I shouldn't like raw vegetables which kill me.
-Lialda (4 pills/day), Rowasa, canasa, Align probiotic, kefir, multivitamin, calcium with vitamin d, iron

Yes, I have been on Rowasa, Cort enemas and Canasa.  Still taking Cort enemas alternately with Canasa.  Today I only saw a twinge of blood...HOOOORAY.  Last night I took the Cort enema.  You're right perach, I think it has a lot to do with diet too.  Although I had a super salad yesterday for lunch and had some left over for dinner.  This salad contained onion, hard boiled egg, chicken strips, lettuce, tomato and raw carrots all in a taco shell...yummmmmy.  Had no ill effects on me.  I know to avoid greasy, fried and spicey foods.  They are what do me in.
