After experiencing minor leakage of mucus, I decided to see my GI about it and find out if Asacol retention enemas might help. Well, after three days the mucus has completely stopped and I am one very happy camper...

Has anyone else had success with retention enemas? I guess I can't say I'm med free anymore tongue

Surprise, sometimes Western medicine works, too. A lot of folks here swear by the mesalamine enemas. Glad you're doing better, NBT.

I just had a colonoscopy and was diagnosed with pancolitis instead of what was proctitis.  The doctor told me the area I was treating with the enemas (Rowasa and Cortenema) was the least inflammed.  So although they didn't bring the inflammation down entirely, at least I know they're doing something.

Katie, 30.   Chicago 'burbs.
DX:  Pancolitis
Current Treament:  Asacol 1200 MG 3X daily, Cortenama 100 ML nightly, Iron 325 MG 3X daily, Zoloft 50 MG daily, Bentyl 20 MG and Tylenol (as needed).
Diet/Exercise:  Avoiding trigger foods, eating very healthy.  Yoga or walking, when possible.
Previous Treatment:  Canasa suppositories, Cortifoam, Prednisone, Colazal, Symex DuoTabs, Rowasa.
Status:  Flare
