Ok, those following my problems with side effects, etc.  My NP called -after talking with the doctor - and he recommended (since I feel nearly in remission) Lialda twice a day and nightly Rowasa which I can cut back to every other night later.  IF all goes well - followup appointment in two months!
We have not had power here because of remnants of IKE so I was taking some Imodium (no water for flushing) and seem to be doing ok.
Please pray for me to not have side effects and ONLY good results! I am TOO old for all this!!
I will be starting the Lialda in a couple days.

Elaine, you will be in my thoughts! Please keep me in mind, too -- I'll start Rowasa in a couple days and am also praying for no side effects. Are you taking the full 4 g of Rowasa nightly?

Be well,

I cannot get the full dose of Rowasa in me.  NP says that is ok - 1/3 or 1/2 will be fine.  I have to administer it on the toilet and with my obesity and arthritis - it limits the control I have.  I try to get as much as possible where it needs it (up as far as I can).

Good luck to you and if you lay on left side in bed and relax but work at holding it in - I have cramping and feeling of urgency but the longer I relax there the better and in about 10 to 15 minutes it supsides and I can sleep all night with it in. I refuse to let it out!!

Can't believe no one has any experience - good or bad - with this combination.  Hope it works for me!  My doctor's office called to make a 3 month followup and I haven't even taken this medication yet.  Told my husband either he is SURE it will help or has written me off!! ElaineNY

Either that or his schedule just gets booked quickly, and he wants to make sure you're on it. I called last week to make a "just in case" appointment with my doctor, and it's in November! Still thinking those good thoughts for you...
