Believe it or not...I have three portapots in my house.  Not like those though...lol.  These are actual potty seats.  We only have one bathroom and God forbid my hubby is on the toilet when I "gotta go".  We have a ranch type house with a full basement.  Portapots located in family room, computer room (which used to be our third bedroom) and basement.  They are a Godsend!

I know!!!! I mean it- I have had one too many "poop in a bag" accidents in my car NOT to buy one of these things! What a great idea- apparently they use them in countries w/little sanitation, to avoid soiling ground water. You know, Peace Corps workers & the sort.... little does the company know that there is a booming market for these things amongst the IBD world! I love it!

The one I have in my van is like this...

What a great invention, so handy.

Dx:  UC Proctitis 2006
Meds:  None so far. Garlic works to ease flares. My GI laughed when I told him and said it was just coincidence.
Started Meds:  Apr 9 08 500mg 5ASA (salofalk) to ease flare, tapering, stopped.
Diet:  Regular fresh garlic, Biobest yogurt daily, Omega 3 supplements, very limited junk food, carbs and processed food, low fat diet.  Lots of fresh fruit and veggies (limited potatoes).
 Added: tumeric and probiotics.

Ever since you posted about having a toilet in your van, pb4, I've been envious! You put the thought in my head, & after a "poop in the bag" incident at a gas station the other day (they do not have public bathrooms!!!!), I decided to do some looking on the internet. See, with things like these available, I don't mind the urgency so much. I don't consider it an accident if I have a receptacle of some sort to go in- it's only if I ever go in my pants! That to me is an accident of bigtime proportions. I bookmarked the chemisan page.... I rarely have these types of situations, thankfully, but when they do arise, how nice would it be to just hop in the backseat & sit on your own personal toilet? Thank God for tinted windows, I've said it before & I'll say it again!
