See Yahoo health section for article "Resetting immune system in bid to beat scleroderma". I would have missed this except that my gastro was involved with scleroderma before focusing on IBD. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

I keep saying, it's all the same disease, the difference is which body system(s) it targets. Great news, and I hope it expands to apply to all autoimmune diseases!

I've seen children with scleroderma - horrible, horrible.

My best friend's brother in law died from scleroderma 8 years ago. He was 49 years old. I remember seeing him go through hell with this disease. Very sad thing. Hope they can do something for it soon.

Sounds very promising, thanks for sharing it with us.
Dx:  UC Proctitis 2006
Meds:  None so far. Garlic works to ease flares. My GI laughed when I told him and said it was just coincidence.
Started Meds:  Apr 9 08 500mg 5ASA (salofalk) to ease flare, tapering, stopped.
Diet:  Regular fresh garlic, Biobest yogurt daily, Omega 3 supplements, very limited junk food, carbs and processed food, low fat diet.  Lots of fresh fruit and veggies (limited potatoes).
 Added: tumeric and probiotics.
