'Tis the season again so this is your friendly reminder to get your flu shot.  My doctors office already has theirs in.  Yesterday I had to take my daughter in to the docs and somehow I got talked into having my flu shot in addition to the pnuemonia vaccine - can we talk about sore arms???!!  I am seeing a trend here - every time I take my daughter in for something I get the brunt of it for some reason!  For instance, both her and I had a dentist appt.  Mine was just for a cleaning and hers was to have a cavity filled.  Well the hygeniest(sp?) accidently loosened one of my fillings.  So guess who ended up getting numbed up? That's right, me while my daughter had her cavity filled with no novacaine!  How ironic is that - so I think I may start having her dad take her to these appointments! lol

When I was on Remicade 2 years ago, I was told I could get the flu shot as long as it was at least 2 weeks before or after a Remicade infusion. Ask your doctor.

Yes, people especially while on steroids or immune suppressing medications should get it.

We all forget ours on purpose every year.

Make sure you are not getting the multidose vial versions at least, and skip Flulaval from GSK altogether!! If you are allergic to egg products should also be cautious.

Also important - do not let yourself get run down during cold and flu season. Get those naps in if necessary!

Wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands.

Just get the flu shot - not the nasal one (which is a live virus).

Stay healthy - if you can!
