I have been lurking here for many years and luckily have been in a sort of remission for the past year J My hubby and I got married last year and had been TTC for the past 8 months and finally hit the “jackpot” last month, I believe I am 5 weeks pregnant now  yeah

We’re delighted, but extremely cautious, as it’ still early days and you never know what happens. I am also extremely worried that my UC will flair up again...

Ladies, do you have any advice how to maximize the chances of staying in remission for the next 8 months, I'm already watching waht I eat and try to stay calm...

UC since 1995, PanColitis diagnosed May 2007
Multiple Gallstones
100 mg Imuran 9th month TTC
4 * 800mg Asacol
Iron Supplement
400 mg Folic acid
Multi vitamin supplement
Nearly in remission, only slight cramping

Congrats... I've also heard women do well during pregnancy... something to do with the hormones, although I've never experienced it personally.
Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999.

Maintenance dose sulfasalazine.
Probiotics, l-glutamine and fish oil caps. George's aloe vera juice. Oregano oil antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal. Long-term remission with only minor blips.

hey congrats u should try pure coconut oil and flaxseed oil. Its very good,I use them instead of medications but I wont advice anyone to come off the medications. The coconut oil is good to coat your intestines so that food wont stick to it and the flaxseed is good to prevent your UC from turning into cancer. It wont affect the baby. Just pray and ask God to guide you through your pregnancy. Good luck!
