well i have been on asacol for a couple of weeks now and noticed as soon as i went on them i had horrendous stomach pains for days. I sat down and read peoples previous posts and people was commenting on asacol causing stomach pain so for 3 days now i havent touched a tablet and have been fine.. whooooo ha ha but have had awful pains in my joints, i cant touch a body part without it aching, even walking up the stairs is hurting. Has anybody else had this, it seems to be one thing after another these days. I m also on predfoam 2 times aday and was woundering if it could be that, nothing seems to be helping these days, its either the urgency or pain.. never a day without any.

Yes, I also have joint pains. Joint pains and UC go hand in hand. I take gucosmine and condroitin and it helps a little. I would say give it a try. MY pain is about 40% better since i have been on this. (4months)
Some blame the joint pain on Pred, but I am not on pred and i got the pain. Maybe it is the asacol, or just the diease itself.
Diagnosed July 2005 with Pancolitis

It could be the asacol, but there is definitely a form of autoimmune arthritis that is associated with UC. I've had it since well before my intestinal symptoms appeared. Even though generally the docs don't like us to take NSAIDS, mine approves my taking Naproxen because it doesn't make me bleed and if I don't take it, within 24 hours I'm not able to walk.
