foot cramps (does anyone else get them)

Last night well early morning was woken by alfall foot cramp which made my toes curl and had shooting pains in my heel going up my calf this went on for about 2 1/2 hrs then stopped it was only in one foot my right it does sometimes happen when im walking but has never lasted that long had all my meds doubled a couple of weeks ago and feel a lot better in myself just the odd blip hope this is not going to be a regular thing now does anyone else suffer from cramps in there feet.
  
  Diagnosed 22.5.08 with Lft sided U/C
  Meds Predfoam 20mg 2x day stopped started Salofalk supps 1gm 26/6/08
  Mesalazine 400mg 2 tabsx2 day

Yes, I get foot cramps quite frequently. I asked my primary about it and she told me either it is a potassium defiency or it has something to do with the structure of your feet. Try eating a banana (very ripe of course) and see if the cramps go away. Every now and then I will constantly get them and I will eat a banana a day and it seems to keep them at bay. If they continue then contact your doctor.

Hi red i do eat bananas maybe not every day but a least 2 a week this darn u/c seems to affect a lot more than you think lol nothing is safe?

Potassium rich foods along with plenty of water. If you are taking any of the anti-spasmodics they will cause bad cramping if you don't stay hydrated. If I take a lomitil and go play golf without really paying attention to my hydration, my feet start cramping up. Coconut water is a great source for potassium too.
