Ive been on salofalk enemas for a hwile. i recently got sick and tried cortifoam. i began bleeding for the first few day but then it went away. i controlled myself with a clearfluids diet and eventually made it onto solid food.
I tried to talk salofalk instead of the cortifoam and began bleeding again. controlled myself again. and then got sick again. I then tried adding a second enema for the day .. ( cortifoam at night and salfoalk mid day) and ive begun bleeding again.
every time ive mixed the medication ive bleed (and havent been able to retain food). it just always seems to get worse when i mix.
am i bleeding from the mixing or and i mixing because im more sick and therefore bleeding.

I hate salofalk, it was a waste of money for me, I stick with cortifoam only, for me I find it the most effective compared to all the others that I've tried. I only ever took the cortifoam at bedtime when things were the most calm toilet wise, why not just drop the salofalk (maybe if you're having troubles with it then it might be that you're allergic to it) I would just drop it all together and stick with the cortifoam only.

:)
My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)

Hi..what other meds are you on? How far up is your UC?

I've used Salofalk with much success for 19+ years....but I did use Cortifoam (or proctofoam..can't remember) for 2 weeks and it worked well.

How long have you been on the Salofalk?

Starving yourself won't help the bleeding or the inflammation....eat regularly and if you must, change the meds.

Some cannot use any of the 5ASA meds at all.

Welcome to the forum,
