As you can see by my signature, I'm not currently taking a multivitamin.  I take a lot of iron per my doctor's suggestion, and instead of a probiotic in pill form, I eat a homemade yogurt (which I'm happy with).  So my question is, what am I missing (if anything)?

I know that I should at least be taking a multivitamin of some sort (probably one in liquid form, so I don't poop it out), but is there anything else that us UC-sufferers tend to be low on?  Anything that I should take in addition to a standard multivitamin?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. :-)

When I was flaring, I always took just a regular multivitamin with iron. When not flaring, I'm able to eat a normal healthy diet, so I only take calcium and vitamin D.

Before UC I never thought taking a multivitamin was necessary - that a balanced diet was enough. Now I'm not so sure. I take Forvia daily. A full does is two pills. I make sure I get at least one a day. (I haven't been so good about taking them lately - too many pills...) It's worth looking in to. Also, some members do well with a children's multivitamin - they can be easier on the tummy.
