Have you had any pepto??

One time I had black stools with no pepto, iron, nothing that would make it do that, and I called my GI and she scheduled me for an EGD the next day. Turned out I had some gastric/upper GI bleeding. I'd give them a call and see what they think about it.

Pepto Bismol is the pink OTC medicine you can drink for an upset stomach (or as their commercials go.. "Nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea- yay Pepto Bismol!" haha. It might also be called 'Pink Bismu th' or 'Bismu th subsalicylate' (minus the space, it wouldn't let me put the -smu-and-t together.. whoops!)

I had a bout of black stool not too long ago. It lasted for about 4 days and I brought it up to my GI. He pretty much said to keep an eye on it but it can be from old blood. Old blood in your stool can make it look black.

And Edie, now I am going to have that song stuck in my head all day thank you very much! LOL

Right, I forgot about the Pepto Bismal.  They come in lozenge form too.  So check and see if you had anything containing bi****h.  But definitely have it checked out.
