My nutritionist has me taking Powerdolphilus by Countrylife and I am running low.  Seems I am having a hard time finding at what site I ordered this.  I also would like to order some fish oil capsules.  You think I could get better deals online or at Walgreen's?

I get most of my stuff off iherb. They get it to me quick flat rate 2$ shipping, and usually cheapest. http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.aspx?c=1&pid=1725&at=0

I get super DHA fish oil from there too... Carlsons. I use Dr. Ohhiros probiotics, expensive but worth it.

Alot of people actually review the products so it's nice to read what people say.

Coupon code WOR953 get you 5$ off if never ordered from there.

I use Pro-Bio at enzymedica.com. It doesn't have to be stored in the fridgerator but it can be. On the shelf it has a life of 6 months I believe but refridgerated, about 12 months.

Depends on what you take. Ebay also has excellent prices, but sometimes you have to factor in the shipping charges to find out if you are saving money. In case you are worried about ordering from ebay, the site sells things from reputable merchants, and I've never received a product that I wasn't 100% satisfied with.

I go to iherb.com. They seem to have a lot of sales. I think they carry the Countrylife brand. Has it helped you?

The link I gave was a direct link to the coutrylife stuff. $12.68 + 1.99 ship. I ALWAYS find stuff cheaper online, with our wonderful 9% tax here in tennessee its not too hard. Vitamin Shoppe sometimes has some good cheap prices too.

9% tax!!!  WOW!  Thought Jersey was bad with 7%.   On second thought, I would take the 9% over what we pay in real estate taxes any day.

I don't order anything online because 2 yrs ago our Visa was hacked into to the tune of $7,000.00. Visa dismissed the charges, but it was enough to terrify me. I hate that too especially w/ the cost of gasoline, etc. But I just haven't been able to order anything online since.

OMG GIGI....and I just placed my order too!  Bummer!  My husband's cousin had his identity stolen about ten years ago.  He had no idea how it happened but did he ever have a hard time.  I ordered from iherb.com, the probiotic and fish oil.  I never do my banking online but both my daughters do.  I am deathly afraid of that!

I have ordered Pro-Bio from iHerb.com. Right now I'm using Culturelle from Wal-mart.

I'm glad you were able to find what you were looking for online. iHerb usually has a huge selection - and great prices!

I am trying find a probiotic to add to my treatment. My dr. has suggested VSL #3 but as you know...it is very expensive
There are so many products and so many choices...
Any suggestions on how to pick one to try?????
I still dont even understand what bacteria's are best for UC and how many CFU's are truly effective for our condition.

I order vitamins and supplements online all the time and have never had an issue with security. I also do the bulk of my Christmas shopping online.

I like VitaCost for vitamins and such; Nutrition Express for bodybuilding supplements. VitaCost definitely saves me money over purchasing the same products locally.

Regarding probiotic selection, you'll get alot of different opinions from members here. In my experience, the more expensive brands are well worth it. Custom Probiotics six strain blend and Natren's various formulas have worked well for me when others did nothing.
Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999.

Maintenance dose sulfasalazine.
Probiotics, l-glutamine and fish oil caps. George's aloe vera juice. Oregano oil antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal. Long-term remission with only minor blips.

my naturopath doctor wants me to take one specific for UC and it has 60 billion live cultures. That seems like a lot!! Supposedly it was used in a trial for people with UC and helped them get into remission.

Hi Sunshine!

How are you doing???? I'm still flaring, I'm down to 30mg of pred and tapering.  Not much blood anymore.   I am thinking of trying probiotics too.  Which one was recommended to you?  It all seems complicated and I never know who to believe.  My G.I. is so "drug" happy.  After my c-scope he just said start pred. and then think about Remicade.  He didn't even talk about what meds I take or use currently.   I like him, but he's just so eager to "drug" me instead of thinking of alternatives.   If you have found any good resources for probiotic information please pass it onto me.

Thanks,

Karen

My doctor gave me sample of Align which is OTC and can be ordered by your pharmacy (Walmart, Rite Aid, Walgreens) if they don't have any on hand.

I ordered 6 weeks from ebay store.  I also tried Primal Defense which was highly recommended but too much gas, etc.  Align works great for me - got formed stools and no stomach pains in a few days.

Hi Karen, I am on my first no pred day. I have been on two probiotics, and I like Ultra Flora better than the other one.  I don't like meds either, esp. when it feels like I am taking more pills than food! Check it out at Amazon
