I was on 40 for two weeks, 30 for 12 days, 20 for one week then 10 for one week then off. Thats per doctors orders. It seems fast compared to some of you. Has anyone else had this schedule?

That's the way my Gastroenergologist does it with me and I disagree with it b/c it is too fast for my body. I would rather do a certain mg dosage and when I see symptoms level off taper to next lower level and taper slower and by smaller dosages when almost completely off it.
It feels like a yo-yo when I'm tapering. 40-30-20-10 back to 40-30-20-10 back to 20-10. doesn't make sense to me. And I brought it up at my last appontment that I wanted to taper slower from like 10 to 7.5 to 5 to 2.5 to 0 and I forgot but he told me his reasoning why he doesn't prescribe that way.
All I can say to you is sacrifice while you taper. what I mean is try really hard not to eat junk food and pay attention to food combos b/c you don't want anything spoiling in your system or not digesting properly which will, in my opinion, affect your UC symptoms while you taper.
