I went to see my Gastroenterologist two weeks ago, after flaring for a few weeks. He encouraged me to stay on imuran and asacol for 4-6 weeks, and not to do the prednisone until that time has passed, because hopefully I'll be better. I hate prednisone and am happy to not be on it, becuase it really does terrible things to me. However, it has been hard dealing with the day-to-day. I'm a full-time student, and have a part-time job, and i'm really struggling. I'm trying so hard to get to my classes and work a reasonable amount every week. I forgot how exhausting it is going through a flare. I'm tired all the time, and my energy is just nil. Does anybody have any suggestions as to keeping in good spirits, and feeling...well like you want to do more than lay on the couch? I'm going for a colonoscopy at the end of the month, so hopefully by then I'll be feeling better.

Dee, first of all, I salute you and second of all I am sorry that your flaring. I was just diagnosised in August and the pain and fatigue is ten fold. I am older than you - 51, but the best advice I can give you is to keep on moving forward. It's hard at times, I know. But you seem to be such an incredibly strong person and I can't see you letting anything get in your way. Rest when you can, keep a POSITIVE outlook, and keep moving forward. I am going to put you on my prayer list that God takes your pain and fatigue away quickly.

Wow...thankyou. I can't tell you how much your post means to me. You think I'm strong? Sometimes I feel like I'm so weak I can barely move. And, the fact that you have me in your prayers makes me feel better already. I need someone like you in my life, and I hope that you and I can continue talking. Hopefully I can offer you words of support like the words you have so graciously offered me. Are you doing well? I hope so. Thanks again for taking the time out of your day to support me. Gigi, you are a wonderful person, and I wish you all the best.
