This may be a dumb question, but if your colitis is spreading will it cause pain in the upper part of your abdomen?  I have had pancolitis for about 10 years, witht he lower 30cm causing the major problems.  If the "bad" is moving more throughout my colon, could that cause the upper pain.  I also have chronic pancreatitis, but my levels showed realitively normal pancreatic enzymes, so it's not that and my GI said that it is pain from my colitis flare up.  I hope this makes sense..  my 2 year old is playing Dr with me while I try to form a complete sentence!  Thanks!  Cara

I have had pain in my abdomen and when I showed the doctor where the pain was located, he said that it was the UC. I have mod/severe pancolitis so the disease is everywhere. If the pain continues, you might want to discus this with your doctor.

Good luck :)

I also have pancolitis, but the worst part was the lower 30cm. I was wondering if it was getting worse higher up also because the pain is moving higher up. My GI knows about it and is great!! I love him! Thanks for your quick reply! Have a great night! Cara
