Go to the beach and not worry about being bloated or sore or having an urge to go when I'm a mile from the bathroom. And finally get a tan!

And then after maybe I'd go to Olive Garden and have breadsticks with alfredo dipping sauce, and a giant bowl of spaghetti and meatballs with marinara. And a margarita.

Well, I might just do that second part anyway because it sounds so freakin' good and I could live with the pain for a bit for something like that. Hahah blush

First I waited a month to be sure I wasn't imagining it.

Then I went out and had chicken enchiladas with rice. I waited over a year before I tried the black beans on the side....

I'm up for a more adventurous vacation, maybe some sightseeing instead of just lounging around someplace.
My husband is surprised by the things I'm suggesting we do now, I think he thought I didn't like to do some things when really I just couldn't! Oh! that sounded kind of nasty, I really meant like going places.
49 year old female attorney, diagnosed UC/pancolitis 1985, no surgery but much suffering.
Asacol/5ASA 6x400 mg maintenance for 20+ years; use prednisone & Rowasa for flares.
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Food sensitivity test showed gluten, other intolerances; started diet without gluten, soy, dairy, tomato etc. Replete probiotic first, now Forte pills.
Achieved remission for the first time in many, many years!? Seemed so, but colonoscopy Oct. 6 proved not so, heavy inflammation in ascending colon & will be using Rowasa again. But I AM better.

Ooh yeah, working out again would be nice. I'd join an early morning yoga class. It's the only time I'd be able to take one with my work schedule, and right now I can barely handle the poses at night with my stomach acting up but in the morning it's out of the question and also it'd be really annoying to be in a nice downward facing dog and have to jump up and run to the bathroom several times in one class.

I'm in remission right now, but I still have to watch what I eat. What I eat gives me a different reaction. Some reactions I don't like. Then my hubby tells me "I told u." I still splurge, I love fried chicken and french fries. Not the best thing in the world, but you gotta splurge. But for me I have to be picky no matter what.
