I did my movi-prep yesterday. That was loads of fun. I was running clear after the first half. The second half was just more clear. The weird thing is, at around 4:00 I started waking up and having bowel movments again. I guess my colitis must be pretty active still because I was just moving blood. I wouldnt have expected that.

Had the colonoscopy today, and the results are moderate/severe ulcerative pancolitis. Last time I was diagnosed it was in my entire colon, so I guess its not as bad for this flare. Hopefully I can get back in to remission in a few months.

They sent me home with pictures from the scope. I think I'm gonna use them on my Christmas Cards :)

Actually, pancolitis means the entire colon, so it sounds like things might be the same as before unfortunately :(

When you woke in in the night and having bowel movements, was there stool mixed in as well? That would be pretty surprising after having nothing but clear fluids coming out!! Perhaps there was some constipation or something in the small intestine that just moved along afterwards? Strange.

I love getting pictures from my scopes. I like to see for myself what's going on too, without having to be awake for the procedure. And it's interesting to compare them to pictures of "normal" bowels.

Good luck on getting back in remission! What meds are you on/is your doctor putting you on anything new??

Female, 23, Ulcerative colitis (pancolitis) since 1999; GERD; gastritis; osteopenia in femur head & lumbar spine from long term prednisone use...

Current Meds:
Lexapro 10mg, Sulfasalizine 3000mg/day, Azasan 100mg

Hmm, I guess I must have the terms wrong then. He said it was only in the rectum, the Ascending Colon, and then a little ways in to the next part. Last time it was the entire thing. So I guess I have the wrong term for that. Medicine wise:

Prednisone 35mg (tapering off)
Lialda 2.4 g twice daily
Mercaptopurine 100 mg daily

I had the same issue with waking up in the night with bms of that nasty stuff! I was also passing a lot of mucous.

LOL about using the pics on Christmas cards. I wonder how many people would realize what it was...
