So I've been stuck at home for the for the past few years since i have UC. But I have decided starting next week, I was goingt o get out the house & tart living life. I treat UC like it's life threatening due to the other dieases it causes, so I'm trying to get everything done while I can. So I plan to find a job, go back to school, get my degree, become a Master Rank in Martial Arts, get married & have a family.
Wish me luck

That attitude may actually help relieve some of your symptoms. There's a large mental component to this disease, it seems.

One word of caution: you may want to ease in a little, because too much stress can also cause flares. Maybe get a job, get comfortable in it, then go back to school.

The world needs all the good people it can get; go out there and live!

ToughKicker, I can relate! It is scary, and it takes time to process. But remember, none of us is guaranteed tomorrow. We all only have today.

Good for you!  At age 68 I know we should not let life pass us by.  Go for it - if it does not all work out as planned - have fun trying!!  You can do anything - planning, make priority lists, etc.

Sounds good to me...remember, you can always change the goals as you go along. Don't make it so that if you don't go according to plan it's a failure...always have options.

You never know how tomorrow will be or what idea will come to you.

I've found, however, the more I'm out there...the more I see and experience.

Be well...have an awesome life experience!

Go for it! Listen to your body & be sure to rest up when you feel the need; then everything will fall into place. Best wishes for continuing remission, self-confidence to withstand any setbacks, & happiness in life. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC; currently on 3 (generic) Colazal daily for maintenance of remission)
